My Internet on my computer is down right now so I won't be able to post for a while. I'm currently sending this from my phone. But here is some news off the top of my head: Eclipse is set to be a movie in 2010! So everyone get excited for that. Also I hope you all are excited for the release of the twilight DVD! Just another quick book recommendation: The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester.

It's the oddest/sweetest mix of Little House on the Prairie and X-Men. I was smiling the whole time (except for the part where I cried). I gave it to my mom, and I'm reading it to my kids—it's absolutely multi-generational. Prepare to have your heart warmed.

Twilight DVD Midnight Release Parties?

Wow, I've never heard of a midnight release party for DvDs. Now I feel like things are going a bit too far with all the hype. Will I end up going at midnight to buy Twilight on DvD to watch deleted scenes and extended footage?? Most likely. Should I??? No, I should wait and be rational and go early morning. But who really wants to be rational?? haha anyway, for those of you that are ecstatic by this news, here is an article from mtv reguarding the DvD release.

Also for those who wish to own it on Blue-ray, it will exclusively be available only at Best Buy and Target for a LIMITED TIME UNTIL MAY 5. So be sure to act quickly on that.

Who's playing Jacob Black in New Moon???

Guess what everybody!! They have decided to keep Taylor Lautner on for New Moon to play Jacob Black! For those of you going huh?? there was some speculation going around that Chris Weitz was looking for other people to play our favorite Werewolf. They only were doing this simply because of Taylor's size. Some people were pushing for Michael Copon to play Jake:

Honestly if this guy had been selected I would feel like part of the character was lost in the movie because the difference between Taylor and Michael is so dramatically different it doesn't even seem like it could be just an older version of Taylor. I'm glad they're keeping Taylor on and hope they do a good job with his size in the movie haha.

Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz:

I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.

The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

I hope that they don't rush the film too badly. I know that they want to get it out as fast as possible for the fans and also get their pay-day, but would it hurt them to take a bit more time for it and make it a bit better? We'll have to find out how they do. New Moon is due out November 20 in the US later this year.

While I was on Fanpop this afternoon I came across an intriguing fanfic that the author is allowing me to share with you guys.

The story's current title is Lovely Bella and the year is 1928. The characters are all the same, but all of the Cullens are vampires by then and Edward has been a vampire for 10 years. Bella was changed 200 years earlier and is Aro's "daughter". This shows the Cullens coming to visit the Volturi and Edward soon meets Bella. It's kind of obvious where it goes from there, but it's interesting none the less.

Next: Robert Pattinson got a hair cut......

When I first saw this I seriously didn't recognize him. I still think he looks awesome, but not for the movie!! For the time being I'm remaining optimistic in hopes of that it will grow out by the time he is needed for filming. To view more photos of Rob and his new hairdo go here.

Dear fans of Twilight, New Moon, Bella, Edward and Jacob,

In the past few days I have been involved in a whirlwind romance with Stephenie Meyers' extraordinary books.

And I am very grateful to have received her permission to protect New Moon in its translation from the page to the screen.

For fans of the books and of the film of Twilight, this may come as an unexpected twist. So I want to write briefly to try to put you at ease, and to give you reason to hope for and expect the best.

For the last decade of my career as a director, I have chosen to make adaptations of complex and involved works of literature. This has always begun with the love of a book and its characters, story, and theme; and it has always involved a respect of and responsiveness to the feelings of other people who loved those books.

When I saw the film of Twilight, I was alternately entranced and left hungry for more. I was also struck by the extraordinary passion for the characters, story and theme that was evident in the people sitting in the seats around me. My job is to live up to that devotion.

Like many of you, I am a fan of Catherine Hardwicke's work. I can't really say much about why she is not doing New Moon because I wasn't involved in those decisions. But I can say that I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can be brought to the screen. To those who doubt that as a male director I can capture Bella's experience, I can only say that emotion is universal and that my work has often involved working with some of the most talented actresses in the world.

As of right now I'm buried alive in a pile of textbooks trying to retain information that may just help me pass my semester finals. SUMMIT BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW MOON DIRECTOR

Los Angeles, CA, December 7, 2008 — Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted TWILIGHT film franchise. Summit's targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke's required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.

"I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON," said Hardwicke. "Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel—it is a great story."

"Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the TWILIGHT franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects," said Erik Feig, Summit's President of Production. Of the single votes, Twilight seems to be the favorite (no surprise there haha). My personal favorite is Eclipse. I just love all of the Edward-Jacob scenes, especially how Edward tries to keep Bella from seeing Jake and also the tent scene. Also of course the final show down at the end. ok wow. I honestly don't even know where to start with this. Let me just say that the movie surpassed all of my expectations. It was just right and what all of the critics are saying are the perfect things. If you haven't read the books, then you most likely would not find very much talent in the actors or understand the storyline very well. The movie stayed to the core of the story wonderfully. Robert Pattinson could not have done a better job. His voice was velvet, scary when needed, and his facial expressions delivered with ease. It almost seemed natural to him. Kristen Stewart was definitely clumsy and did not look like she was forcing it, like rob she looked natural (except for a few parts the way she talked was a bit odd but other than that it was phenomenal). All of the guys were hilarious and I don't just mean the cullens, I mean even the humans were! Mike, Tyler, and Eric were perfect. When you go see it keep an eye on Mike especially and you'll see why I'm mentioning him exclusively. (haha) I'm very happy with the turnout and definitely do not think that it put a damper on the book. Before, I thought they were over-hyping it wayyyyyy too much and I was waiting for it to turn out horrible. Everything that Summit, the directors, the actors, and Stephenie did to promote this film and hype it up did not fail. This movie will make millions, we already know that, and it is definitely obvious that New Moon will be made into a movie. They left kind of a cliff-hanger like ending after the prom and so that is definitely a good show of the director's and summit's confidence that there will be a sequel. As for me: I'm signing off and going to bed. I've got to get up for school in about 3 hours and I don't think that'll go over too well. Then as soon as that 3:05 bell rings I'm heading straight to Gymnastics practice and then making a beeline for the movie theater to see it again. I don't think that movie will ever get old to me. I hope that those of you who were not fortunate enough to see a midnight showing of the movie will enjoy it later this afternoon and please post your opinions!! I'd love to know what everyone is thinking about the movie.

READ FIRST::: Here is 8 minutes of the Twilight movie. It was shown during the Roman Film Festival and of course some smart fan was taping it, like the extended version of the ballet scene we saw, you can hear the fans in the theatre screaming and yelling so just be prepared for that. There was a version of this on Youtube with subtitles but mr. mean old Youtube just HAD to take it off. Recently someone has created a video for you to be able to download it which you can do so here. I should remind you that by watching this you technically are spoiling part of the film for yourself. So watch at your own risk (although after I finished watching it, it made me all that more excited to go see it on the big screen). In this scene we just see an extended version of Bella meeting the Cullens at their house and them jumping through the trees. Also we hear Bella's Lullaby playing at the end. =] Don't get mad at me if you decide to watch it and feel like you've been shown too much, remember that this is 8 minutes of a 2 hour long film so don't worry, there is still much to be watched.

Twilight Movie News (and yes, there are only 11 days left!):

For those of you who have emailed me about the Twilight Talent Tour (see October 31st post), I am very sorry. I promised to post more information, and I forgot because the information was never forwarded to me. If you are interested, click here for the complete list of locations and rules.

And that is not the only thing that I feel guilty about. Over the weekend I read several movie blogs that discussed the pre-sales of movie tickets. All of the articles that I read mentioned that a lot of showings from the opening weekend are already sold out. Sites like Fandango and MovieTickets.com have been selling tickets for a couple of weeks and we have not made any mention of it on our site. Consider yourself warned!

And finally, in case you haven't heard it from anyone else, there will be an exclusive clip from the movie shown during Heroes tonight on NBC. Although I haven't heard anything about the clip, I would suggest tuning in because I think Heroes is a pretty good show.

Twilight Tuesday: Yes I know it's Thursday but here it is anyway. This week is the cast answering questions from the fans. It's a pretty good week, here's the video:

Here are two very cool news items dealing with the movie soundtrack:

First, we get to exclusively unveil Perry Farrell's song, "Go All The Way (into the Twilight)" for your listening enjoyment. As you know, this song will be part of the official Twilight soundtrack (in-stores November 4th).

In other awesome soundtrack news, we have just learned that the music video for Paramore's "Decode" will be premiering on November 3rd! You can watch it all day on MTV, MTV2, MTVu, and MTV.com. Make sure to check MTV.com leading up to the premiere to see exclusive snippets and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video.

I heard Bella's Lullaby!!!!

Well todays Friday the 24th and I got back from the mall about an hour ago. I finally got to listen to Bella's Lullaby along with the entire twilight soundtrack at Hot Topic! It was a bit hard to hear the songs very well through all of the commotion at the store, but i'm going to tell you now that all of the other Bella's lullabys that are on youtube claiming to be the official ones are not real! (At least as far as I can tell) For example there was a lot of speculation that "A River Flows in You" by Yiruma was going to be used, but you simply can't take one song by one artist that has already been named and just suddenly call it "Bella's Lullaby". You just can't do that. The real thing was composed by Carter Burwell.

After the listening party I had some time to kill so I walked into Borders and saw an entire section of shelving totally reserved for the Twilight books so I went to check it out and see if anything was new. Then I saw this little caption beneath the books that made me laugh: "Titles May Contain Mature Content, Adult Supervision is Advised"
Now I know that it was most likely pertaining to the entire Young Adult section but because it was only under the Twilight books it still made me laugh, how could the titles "Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn" be inappropriate for a child? What is Borders trying to say? I thought it was pretty funny. Here's my picture:

News over the past few days: Catch up

Sorry my posts have not been quite as frequent as when the blog was first getting started. I've been swamped with school work and my gymnastics coaches are starting to kick it up a notch. This post will catch up on most of the main news:

First up: Part of Twilight soundtrack online through youtube. Check it out here.

Second: On October 21st at 9 pm on spike tv the 2008 scream awards will be premiering along with world premiere footage of the Twilight film. I personally have never even heard of spike tv or the scream awards so I'm just going to rely on fellow twilighters to get that footage uploaded to the web for everyone else to view. If I find a link to the footage then I will definitely be posting it to the blog. No promises though.

Third: The company that has made the cullen crest jewelry for the cullen family in the Twilight movie will be releasing some of their merchandise onto amazon. The majority of these items are made for pre-order so some do not have official images yet.

EW gets to listen to Twilight soundtrack early:

Entertainment weekly was privileged in receiving a copy of the Twilight soundtrack early and they submitted a complete review over the songs here. Here's what they had to say about Robert Pattinson's song "Never Think".

"I'm not going to pretend I didn't immediately skip to this track the second I dropped the preview CD into my colleague's Discman (yes, someone in our office still owns a Discman). After catching a quick bite of the beautiful Brit's folksy Whisky a Go Go performance on YouTube, I was eager to hear what the thesp would do on his first bona fide recording. He did not disappoint. The delicate guitar and laid-back vocals (compared by some to a young Jeff Buckley) would be the perfect background to Edward and Bella's post-fight reunion in the hospital. We may not be getting Pattinson's version of ''Bella's Lullaby,'' but this track leaves me wanting for nothing — well, maybe a personal serenade."

This will also be added to Twilight Ribbons under the Soundtrack page. Twilight soundtrack will be released November 4th.

I wish I could get the movie companion early.... oh well ha. Well i'm going to be getting the twilight collector's edition tonight so I can't really complain ha. Oh and I'm definitely going to be going to the hot topic listening party =] that is.... as long as the soundtrack isn't already leaked onto the internet. So many things are getting ruined for the Twilight series, first midnight sun and then the final trailer. Also I think Breaking Dawn had some copies released early.... Ugh what has this world come to?! I hope that the soundtrack doesn't get leaked..no matter how much I want to hear Bella's Lullaby.

The Twilight hand campaign

This was from a while ago but I never got to share it so here it is. The Twilight hand campaign was started by deviantart.com user redlotusflower. This was going on while we were all still eagerly awaiting the release for Breaking Dawn. What you would do is write on your left hand, curving around the base of your thumb: .:The Twilight Hour:. and you would keep that on there until you had finished reading Breaking Dawn. I was a participant and I had to keep rewriting it on my hand over and over again because it kept getting rubbed off while I was at gymnastics practice haha. What everyone on Deviantart.com was doing was taking artistic shots of their hands and posting to Deviantart. Here is my hand:

The charms are part of a bracelet that I bought off ebay. It has all 4 book covers, the first twilight movie poster, a copper wolf charm, and a swarovski crystal (bella's bracelet!!). Also the clasp is an apple. Here is the bracelet:

If you are dying to have your own bella's bracelet but cannot afford one off of Twilightteez.com for 75 dollars, then go to ebay. Twilight fans have made unique Twilight bracelets that I'm sure you will be just as happy with, I know I sure am happy.

Length of the Twilight film released!

According to Mtv, the official length of the Twilight Movie being released on November 21st, 2008 will be 120 minutes long. I don't think we'll have to worry about too many major key parts being cut out with a 2 hour film. This information has made me very confident about the success of the movie.

A couple more items: First, the final two parts of the four part series "The Making of The Resolution" have been embedded on our The Resolution page. Second, the official movie site (TwilightTheMovie.com) now has a list of international release dates for the movie. During the past several months I have received approximately 300,000 emails (yes, that is a slight exaggeration) asking about the release dates in other countries. This Thursday there is a Theatrical Trailer to be release for Twilight! This will be the third and final trailer for the Twilight movie. Stephenie Meyer's official site has been updated with this news:

Summit has let us know that there will be a new, final trailer for TWILIGHT coming soon! It will be debuting in theatres on Friday, October 10th in front of certain movies (it is at the discretion of the individual theatres). There will also be a sneak peak of the new trailer on Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, October 9th. Immediately following the sneak peak, Summit is letting the fans be the first to see the trailer online in its entirety and share it.

What you need to know:

You can see the trailer first online before it's officially released, via the Twilight widget. If you don't have the widget, you can grab it from the official film site at TwilightTheMovie.com.
The trailer will be available exclusively via the widget starting at 8:00 PM PST on October 9th for one hour, before launching in HD on MySpace at 9:00 PM PST.
A countdown clock will be added to the widget shortly, counting down to this highly anticipated event.

I definitely agree with the many comments I have read about the music video for "The Resolution" by Jack's Mannequin: both the video and the song are extremely good. We have been given some extras by the band, and I thought that everyone would enjoy seeing them. It is "The Making of The Resolution", and you can find the first two parts of the four part series here below the original video. We are excited to have the exclusive unveiling of Paramore's "Decode" — the official single from the Twilight soundtrack (in-stores November 4th—please note new on-sale date).

Hayley Williams from Paramore is a huge Twilight fan and recently talked about her love of the books and the song's title:

"Twilight is the first series of books I've ever read. I didn't get into the Harry Potter series even though I love the movies. Twilight really caught my attention and held it. I'm really excited to see the book adapted to film and excited that our band gets to be a part of the phenomenon. I chose the title "Decode" because the song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward. Bella's is the only mind Edward can't read and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. New York Post Pop Wrap scored an interview with Peter Facinilli (Carlisle) and also posted a new picture of Robert Pattinson, Nikki Reed, and Peter Facinilli. You can view the article here. This months issue of Cosmo Girl! has an interview with Spunk Ransom, Taylor Lautner, and Kellen Lutz. Apparently there are some pretty great pictures so be sure to check it out. According to the Twilight Lexicon there has not been a copy of the article found online yet. I have not been able to get a copy yet but when I do I will scan and upload the article to the blog.

Babynames.com has devoted a page on their site to Twilight names. Anyone having a baby soon? lol I thought this was pretty cool. Don't go there though if you haven't read all of the books, because obviously they have names from Breaking Dawn. It's also useful if you want to look up descriptions of characters in the series. Then again you could always do that at the lexicon, but still is useful. =D

People often ask me for reading suggestions, and I'm always happy to share because books are exciting things to me. My latest excitement is this: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I was so obsessed with this book I had to take it with me out to dinner and hide it under the edge of the table so I wouldn't have to stop reading. The story kept me up for several nights in a row, because even after I was finished, I just lay in bed wide awake thinking about it. I've been recommending it to total strangers in Target. And now to everyone who reads my website. The Hunger Games is amazing.

Anyone a Paramore fan?? I certainly am. According to Spin.com they will possibly be recording one of their new songs for the Twilight Movie Soundtrack!! I hope that actually happens because that would give me another reason to buy a soundtrack for the movie haha.

Good news — Stephenie will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th! To find out what time the show airs in your area, click here to use their cool map and schedule. I hope you enjoy the show!

A few weeks ago we announced the new editions and books coming out in the next few months. Only two of them currently have release dates on Amazon.com, so I thought I would post links to those two so that you can read what they're all about. The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide comes out at the end of December, and Twilight (Mass Market Paperback) comes out on October 28, 2008. And, speaking of the Twilight Saga, if you haven't ever been to Borders Twilight Saga page, and you have some time to kill, I would suggest checking out some of their exclusive videos.

And one final link... the Twilight READ Poster is being sold by the American Library Association. A lot of people have asked me about posters in the past, and I thought that this one is very cool.

My new favorite Twilight Song

Ok so i haven't been all that impressed with all of the Twilight themed music going around lately, until I came across this song. It's name is Undone by Kat Tingey and I absolutely love it. I can't stop listening to it! The lyrics aren't in any way cheesy and perfectly portray the Twilight saga. I found it on Myspace here on Kat Tingey's myspace page. Look for her new album at the end of 2008. Just wanted to share that with you =]

Very Upsetting

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ BREAKING DAWN. you have been warned.

Recently I was sent a message on youtube telling me about this website that has upset me very much. The people on it claim they aren't haters, but that's honestly what the site is. It's a hate site for the Twilight series. The people on the site disliked Breaking Dawn so much that they have created a petition against it. It supposedly had about 1,000 signatures. They even sent it to Stephenie's brother Seth to try to be heard. The petition is not legal as it is done online but it is still upsetting. This is the website: The Dark Side

Here is what i sent back to the person who made me aware of the website.

I absolutely loved breaking dawn. Thank you for sending this too me. Everyone who has ever read breaking dawn and loved it has every right in the world to be upset and moody about this. I certainly am and would like to voice it.

What I would like to say to the creator of the petitioner:

Oh come on. People really need to stop doing this. The way they were criticizing her was way out of line. they were saying such things as "8 year olds are reading about sex, abortion, and pregnancy and she's proud of it?" Stephenie had the entire series in her head before it became so popular. Would you change the work you envisioned just to please a few mothers and other adults? It's like a painting with nudity in it. It's art, and you don't denounce it. Cover your child's eyes if you don't want them to see something that a true artist has created. The same goes for literature. You can't keep your children protected from everything in the world no matter how hard you try, I'm sorry but you just can't. Also they are FICTIONAL characters. This isn't happening in real life. Anything can happen. Why would you question how a vampire can get a human pregnant? Science can't answer that for you because it ISN'T real, it's in a book for crying out loud. These people sound like they're looking for complicated scientific answers to everything Stephenie Meyer has created. She's not a scientist, she's an author with a creative mind. The creator of this petition acts as if the Twilight characters are hers and they made up the rules. He/she claims that they are not trying to hurt stephenie meyer's feelings with these harsh criticisms, but how would you feel if you created something that was so great and then someone comes along and says, no your imagination was wrong, this is the way it should be. It's like people are telling the creators of sesame street that they didn't truly imagine big bird to be yellow, he's actually green. You can't expect someone to take that lightly. She has come a long way since 2005 and still has much to learn. Although she may not seem it, she truly is still a new writer. JK rowling has had over 10 years in the writing industry. You really can't compare the experience. They both are very talented authors who have the gift of writing something that a wide variety of people love. I'm not meaning to call Stephenie lacking, because she certainly isn't. There is always is room for improvement though. I am a 15 year old highschool freshman addressing a realm of middle aged adults. Of course some of you don't like it, she could have actually tried to write something to please every single twilight reader out there but it truly is impossible. The plot was envisioned and thus written down. It is the way it is and I don't understand why they are petitioning against it. It's not like you could wipe the book off the face of the planet, and you can't stop Stephenie Meyer from writing down her stories that so many people enjoy. You may call me rude and ignorant for this note but it's the truth. Stephenie Meyer has absolutely no reason to respond to those signatures, the opinions are voiced and even acknowledged by the official sites webmaster. What more do they want? An official letter hand written by Stephenie herself? a box of chocolates saying "i'm sorry i disappointed you?" It's ridiculous to criticize a book like that. Sorry, but it is.

The News

The rating of Twilight has finally been released! It has been rated pg-13. RopeofSilicon.com received the most recent movie ratings and Twilight was on the list! In my opinion this is just the right rating for the movie. If it had been rated any less or any more we, the fans, would definitely be questioning the content of the movie and how true it really did stick to the book. If they do decide to make more of the Twilight Saga into movies, then probably all of them are going to be pg-13. If they did Breaking Dawn it would be impossible to stick 100% to the book due to the explicit content in it. They would need to change a lot of key scenes in the movie for it. I hope they do make all of the books into movies though. It would be really cool to see.

Also Stephenie Meyer will make an appearance on Ellen on Wednesday, September 17th so don't forget to check your local listings for when Ellen will be showing in your area.
